12 to 6 months before The Day:

Choose a wedding date Decide on your wedding style Set a tentative budget. Reserve reception location as soon as you have the set the date. Start shopping for your wedding dress and headpiece

6 to 9 months before The Day

Order your bridal gown

3 to 6 months before The Day

Order bridesmaids’ dresses Buy foundation garments (bustier, bra, underwear, etc.) Buy wedding shoes and make sure to break them in Buy accessories, if you didn’t already buy them when you ordered your dress. Select and reserve the men’s formalwear.

2 months before The Day

Make an appointment with your hair stylist for your wedding day. Have a hair and makeup trial with your stylists. Get your wedding dress altered. (Make sure to wear your foundation garments and to bring the shoes you’re going to wear on your wedding day). Make sure your bridesmaids get their dresses altered.

1 month to 2 weeks before The Day

Have the final fitting for your wedding dress. If you’re following the tradition, make sure you have your something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

The week before The Day

Pack an emergency kit to have on your wedding day. Put one of your bridesmaids, or another trusted friend, in charge of it. Include makeup for touchups, cough drops/mints, tissues, a brush, hairspray, Tylenol, safety pins, bobby pins, a sewing kit and anything else you think of that might come in handy.

The day before The Day

Get your nails done (if you’d like). Get plenty of sleep.

The Wedding Day!

Make sure to eat! Have your hair and makeup done. Give yourself plenty of time to get dressed, especially if your photographer will be taking pictures.
