Let It Rain!
Don’t let a little…or a lot…of rain ruin your wedding day. If the forecast calls for wet weather, instead of fretting and hanging rosary beads (well, still hang the rosaries even if you’re not Catholic…it can’t hurt), prepare and make the most of the rain. Think about the great pictures you can get from a rainy wedding day!

You know all about backup locations…especially if you are actually having an outdoor wedding, so I’m not even going to mention how to avoid the rain or not let it ruin your day. You can’t change the weather (despite my cousin’s anti-rain dance, it still rained) no matter how hard you’d like to be able to. Instead think about how to make your wedding more memorable because of the rain.
Rent or buy cute umbrellas to have on hand to shelter your bridal party and guests. Whatever umbrellas you have lying around will work, but if you need to buy some, try to find bright colors or cute patterns.

Pick ones to match your bridal party.

Or find unique ones that match your personality.

The pop of color that a bright umbrella offers can make for some great pictures.

In addition to umbrellas, think about footwear. I know that you probably spent a fortune and hours on your bridal shoes, but keep them for the indoor part of your wedding. Instead find some fun and funky rain boots to wear outside and make sure to get them on film (well, actually more likely a memory card, but still).

The rain can also create moments that might not otherwise have happened.

And without rain, you can’t have amazing pictures like these.

One couple, Hadley and Allison (and their photographer) truly embraced the rain and I think their wedding was gorgeous and memorable. You can view the more pictures from their wedding here.

So if it’s supposed to rain on your big day, grab some umbrellas, slip on your rain boots, get some great pictures and have a fabulous wedding!
