Do’s and Don’ts of Bridal Accessorizing
When looking for accessories for your wedding day, you should never be afraid of big, bold statement pieces like this gorgeous necklace by Tejani Jewelry. The name “Tejani” is derived from owner and designer Urvi Prunier’s maiden name and translates to “brightness” and “sparkle” in Hindi—a fitting description for this timeless collection that boasts a unique touch of ethnic heritage and modern flair. When we asked her what celebrity fits her style ideal, she name dropped Sarah Jessica Parker.

“[Sarah] really understands accessorizing…hands down knows how to accessorize,” she says. “She is not afraid of wearing statement pieces that reflect her style no matter how it may look with her outfit.”
But what are some tips soon-to-be brides should learn before walking down the aisle? Below Urvi gives us the do’s and don’ts of accessorizing:
Do’s and Don’ts
DON’T wait til the last minute!
You never want your accessories to be an afterthought; order at least a month in advance! You want to have enough time to try it on with your gown and make sure you’ve achieved the final look you want.
DO go big!
If a downward ‘do is your hair style of choice, punch up the look with bigger earrings! Small and dainty earrings will be lost in your beautiful locks, so don’t be afraid to go big!
DON’T over accessorize!
The only thing worse than under accessorizing is over accessorizing. If your gown is heavy on the embroidery, choose light pieces to compliment it. If you have your heart set on a chunky necklace, you may want to skip an arm full of bangles and earrings that hit your shoulders! Seek the opinions of trusted friends and family to edit your look to perfect!
DO accessorize your bridesmaids!
If you’ve spent countless hours finding the perfect bridesmaid dresses, take a few minutes to complete the look with fabulous accessories! Offer suggestions to your girls that allow them to express their individuality while still keeping the storyline consistent.
DON’T be afraid to change your look!
If you envision a classic look for your walk down the aisle, but want to let loose during the reception coordinate your jewelry to these looks! Throw on a few extra bangles and switch out your elegant pearl studs for a statement-making chandelier pair!
