Laduree Macarons in New York, at last!
French Macarons, a delicacy made with almonds, took the US by storm a couple of years ago. Macaron was the new cupcake. Though many have offered a decent selection of flavors and a palatable texture, my haughty French palate never reached the heavenly heights of eating a Laduree macaron. Nore the excitement of the amazing experience of entering one of their stores and leaving with one of their lovely boxes. Slightly delayed by hurricane Irene, a Laduree Madison avenue store has just opened. It is lovely with the traditional Laduree decor.
The cute packaging offered in a selection of shapes and colors are amazing wedding favors. A macaron tower can be a great addition to your wedding cake. According to your taste and wedding theme, you can select the flavors that work best for you. They have very sophisticated ”flower” flavors such as rose, cassis-violette and orange blossom. Or you could go with the salty caramel option which is amazing. My favorite is simple vanilla and during winter their seasonal chestnut. If you live in New York, run there to share the experience. They also offer a selection of chocolate and candle gifts.
