A real bride’s Bridal Market picks
Bridal Market has been an absolute blast to write about. As a 2012 bride, I loved going through all the different styles designers are releasing. I got plenty of ideas that would be perfect for my vintage butterfly garden themed wedding taking place on castle grounds in North Carolina.
So, after sifting through what seemed like hundreds of wedding dresses, styles and more, I’ve narrowed it down to my personal Bridal Market highlights.
Favorite Dream Dress:
Reem Acra’s high collared dress with delicate, flowery texture is the perfect vintage touch for the overall feel of what I want my wedding to be. It’s modest enough to please my mother, but still very modern and not the least bit “old-lady-ish.” This dress is by far one of the coolest dresses I’ve seen. I’d love to try it on.
Favorite Veil:
Is there anything more beautiful than this hand-painted veil by Debra Moreland? I don’t think so. It reminds me of the vines growing on a castle. Perfect for me? I think so.
Favorite Short Dress:
If I was going to go for a short dress, Claire Pettibone has captured my heart with this elegant short dress with a train. I don’t know if I could pull off the low front (Mom’s “no-cleavage rule” after all). But still, I love how ethereal this gown is. It would be like I walked right into my very own fairy tale.
Favorite Bling:
Um…need I say more? Just look at it! Again, thank you, Debra Moreland. Huge fan!
Favorite Realistic Dress:
If I had pictured a dress for myself, this Theia wedding dress would be it. A lover of all things lace, I was made for this dreamy dress. It’s very classic and again fits with the vintage look I’m hoping for.
Favorite Bridesmaid Dress:
I. Love. This. Dress. Monique Lhuillier’s purple fall bridesmaid dress is perfect for my bridesmaids. I have seven bridesmaids from 4’11” to 5’10”, 100 lbs to 200 lbs and A cup to DDDs. It’s modest enough that all girls would feel comfortable and the flowy fabric would just grace the girls’ figures in all the right places. Plus with my purple and yellow color scheme, it fits right it!
I guess Bridal Market did give me a couple of ideas for my wedding after all.
How about you? Which 2012 looks were your favorite for Bridal Market?
