Celebrating the most important dress of your life

This is one of the first wedding dresses I've looked at. Not "the one" though. Hopefully Bridal Market will help guide me through wedding dress shopping (and you too!).
The wedding dress. It’s the universal symbol for all things bridal. It was iconic before the little black dress graced the fashion world and is one of the most timeless pieces of clothing our society has ever seen (Okay… there may have been a dark period in the 80s, but we can forgive those poofy sleeves. They were charming in their own way…sorta).
While it has gone through some drastic style changes over the years, wedding dresses are the most gorgeous garment a woman will ever get to wear in her lifetime.
Now it’s my turn.
My fiancé Addison Miller proposed to me on March 29th in the beautiful mountains of Boone, North Carolina. After dating for over three years and lasting through countless periods of long distance, we couldn’t be happier. But now we’re in full swing wedding planning for our July 29th nuptials, which will take place outside a beautiful castle in North Carolina.
But while basking in the joy of the actual engagement is marvelous and planning the wedding details can be ridiculously time consuming—there’s one little detail that deserves some EXTRA attention. You can’t forget the wedding dress.
Seeing as this is my first (and last) wedding dress, I, like many brides, am starting off a little lost. Thank goodness I’ll be having some help guiding my exploration of this fashion frontier. I am honored to be covering the looks from Bridal Market in New York for WeddingDresses.com as guest editor this week!
I’ll be taking you through the latest looks for 2012. Whether you’re hoping to look like a traditional princess or a sexy vixen, you’ll find what you’re looking for (and hopefully I’ll get some of my own ideas too!).
Like a marriage isn’t a marriage without love, a bride isn’t a bride without her wedding dress. So join me as we explore the bridal fashion event of the year together. I’ll be posting daily through the 17th, so make sure to come back often.
