A 70s White House Wedding Dress: Tricia Nixon’s Wedding Dress Style
President Richard Nixon’s daughter Tricia Nixon is probably an unfamiliar name to brides today. First Lady Jackie Kennedy’s wedding dress designed by Ann Lowe is usually the style brides want to emulate.

Tricia Nixon’s wedding dress seemed to inspire many of the wedding dresses that will be in bridal boutiques in 2013. Her wedding dress featured floral embroidery and a tasteful v-shaped neckline with an a-line skirt that was lightly laced with lace flowers along the hem.
Tricia’s bridesmaid dresses were reminisce of southern bells with 70s floppy hats ruffled off-the-shoulder necklines. The wedding attended by 400 very important people was held in the White House’s rose garden.

Tricia Nixon’s dress was designed by Priscilla Kidder formerly of Priscilla of Boston according to MentalFloss.com. Luci Baines Johnson, daughter of President Lyndon B. Johnson, also wore Priscilla Kidder’s wedding dress in 1966 says VintageGown.com.

The heat of June didn’t melt her 350lbs was what Tricia Nixon’s wedding pound cake weighed. That’s almost a pound per guest! The recipe for the pound cake is available online.

Aria designed this lace sleeveless wedding dress that looks like Tricia Nixon’s wedding dress from the 1970s.
